Job Summary

The Senior Product Analyst is responsible for conveying product vision and roadmap to an Agile delivery team by defining user stories and prioritizing product backlog. This person is also responsible for testing the software before moving to production. The Senior Product Analyst must possess excellent communication and organizational skills with an analytical mind to decipher imperfect, ambiguous information into requirements that the developers can use to deliver desired results. Duties include, but are not limited to: grooming product backlog, testing, data analysis, documentation and performing other tasks as assigned by Software Development Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following duties are normal for this position.  These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive.  Other duties may be required and assigned.


Serves as the Agile team's primary contact for information, work prioritization, and decision-making.

Document the intended output and behavior of new functionality by writing: user stories, story maps, and business process flow charts.

Work closely with software developers and other stakeholders throughout the full software development lifecycle and be involved in the continuous improvement of our software.

Assist in the acceptance testing of new functionality to validate the solution meets product goals.

Act as a liaison between business users and the technical development team to ensure alignment on requirements and deliverables.

Analyze the technical and business impacts and dependencies of new features.

Document and analyze current business processes and underlying systems/applications.

Produce timely and high quality work product requirements including specifications, process flows, mock-ups and wireframes.

Work as a Application Librarian and work with audit to comply with their requirements.

Setup and Conduct Security Prescans of Software Applications.    

Groom JIRA Stories and Epics for Product roadmap.

Data Analysis to prepare reports for management or for troubleshooting defects.

Make recommendations to improve processes and be analytical and methodical in your approach to new problems.

Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on business requirements and functional specifications.

Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business users to verify that the system meets business expectations

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a software development, with a business analysis background or 5+ years of related work experience. Minimum of 5 years experience with Agile/Lean methodologies, Quality Assurance methodologies, Product grooming in an Agile environment, JIRA, Zephir, Confluence or GIT and Data Analysis.  Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this job.

Preference will be given to candidates with certifications such as Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA), or ISTQB Certification (International Software Testing Qualifications Board) at the Foundation or Advanced Level.
