Purpose of Job
The Manager of IT is overall responsible for the management of the systems and staff that comprise the networked systems at the GLC. Any system that communicates on the network will fall under the guidance of the Manager of IT, including: servers and operating systems, network devices, cloud systems, telecommunications, desktops, and the operation of senior engineer staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Maintains organization’s effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies.
Deploys IT related systems in a structured, documented manner.
Directly supports business objectives by developing tools to increase or enhance efficiency.
Maintains system support roles to address the GLC’s changing technology.
Oversees Tiers 1-3 of the support system.
Administers the staffing requirements to meet business and technology requirements by communicating job expectations and planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
Shows effective time management of personnel to support timely delivery of projects.
Manages the communication path with the remote offices and their personnel.
Develops IT team personnel to support the goals of the organization.
Develops the IT budget to support system and business requirements.
Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a related discipline is required. Seven or more years of system administration using all aspects of a Microsoft Windows Backoffice platform or related experience is essential. Three years minimum managerial experience strongly preferred. Experience in team building and development is very important. Three or more years’ experience maintaining and developing Microsoft Active Directory solutions, thorough understanding of TCP/IP communications in a multi-subnet environment is recommended. General understanding of information security practices is required. Knowledge of cloud-based network management is preferred. Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job may be considered.
